Following my graduation from the London Institute (now University of the Arts London) I began my career at Graphics International magazine (now Grafik). I started as staff writer and progressed to deputy editor before deciding to take a break and travel the world. On my return to London I established myself as a freelance writer and have since contributed to a number of international magazines including Computer Arts Projects, Print and Cent. In addition I headed up the editorial department for design and lifestyle title Lab Magazine.
I have also written a number of design books including Type Specific, CD-Art, Mag-Art and Maximalism. My most recent title, Reinventing Letterpress, will be released this summer by Rotovison (UK) and Chronicle Books (US).
I live and work in London.
