Following my graduation from the London Institute (now University of the Arts London) I began my career at Graphics International magazine (now Grafik). I started as staff writer and progressed to deputy editor before deciding to take a break and travel the world.

On my return to London I established myself as a freelance writer and have since contributed to a number of international magazines including Computer Arts Projects, Print, Blanket and Uppercase. I also spent two years heading up the editorial department for design and lifestyle title Lab Magazine and have blogged for The Huffington Post.

I have also written 14 design books which have covered a range of subjects from, typography to identity design to the decadence and excess of maximalist design to the renewed interest in letterpress printing. They have been published worldwide by Rotovision, Chronicle Books and Thames & Hudson. Titles include Type Specific, CD-Art, Maximalism, Handmade Type and Reinventing Letterpress. My most recent book, I Love Stationery, was released this year by Jacqui Small (UK) and Rizzoli (USA).

My full catalogue can be found here.

I also run a successful design and lifestyle blog called lottie loves.

I live and work in London & Brighton.
