I’m a freelance design and lifestyle writer, and consumer insights researcher, living and working in London. I began my career writing for Grafik Magazine and have since gone on to contribute to a number of international magazines including Uppercase, Mollie Makes, Computer Arts, Print and Blanket, as well as heading up the editorial department for art and design title LAB Magazine.
I have written 17 design books covering a range of subjects including typography, maximalist design, letterpress printing and stationery design. They have been published worldwide by Rotovision, Chronicle Books, Potter Craft, Jacqui Small and Thames & Hudson. Titles include Type Specific, Poster-Art, Maximalism, Handmade Type, Reinventing Letterpress and I Love Stationery.
My most recent book, Little Book of Bookmaking, was released in 2014 by Jacqui Small (UK), while my next book, Handmade for Baby, will be released in early 2015. A full catalogue can be found here.
As well as writing I have spent the last ten years working as a trends and insights researcher, firstly for for Ogilvy & Mather, and most recently for Lowe and Partners Worldwide. During this time I have worked on a wide range of research subjects for a variety of clients.
